OUR MATERIAL IMPACT
Traceable Leather. Responsible Choices.
At Leather Club Australia™, responsible craftsmanship begins with knowing where our materials come from and how they are made.
Leather production has an environmental footprint—from water and energy use to chemicals, waste and emissions. That is why LCA prioritises leather sourced from Leather Working Group (LWG) certified manufacturers, including Gold-rated sources.
Why LWG?
LWG provides an internationally recognised audit framework for leather manufacturing, assessing areas including water, energy, chemical management, waste, effluent, emissions and material traceability.
For us, certification means moving beyond sustainability claims toward measurable and independently assessed manufacturing practices.
Why It Matters in Australia
Australia has a strong livestock and hides industry, yet leather products can move through global processing and manufacturing supply chains before reaching Australian consumers.
So the question should not simply be “Where was it designed?”
We believe consumers should also be able to ask:
Where did the leather come from? How was it processed? Can it be traced?
The LCA Choice
We don’t claim leather is impact-free. We choose to pursue greater traceability, responsible production, material longevity and continuous improvement.
Because informed choices make better products—and better products should be made to last.
Know the leather. Know the craft. Know what you carry.™
